Bird Watching
One of the top activities in Mindo is Bird Watching. We are fortunate to be in an area of excellent biodiversity, and are the habitat of countless bird species, from the famous cock of the rock, toucans, and of course lots of hummingbirds .You can even watch many species of hummingbirds on our porch and we can help you arrange a morning bird watching tour with a guide.
Depending on the time of year, river tubing can be a relaxing or exhilarating activity. You can take a tour down from a tour right guide down the street.
If you want to experience the nature in Mindo at night time and see some reptiles and amphibians, try a night hike. Eric, the guide and his crew offer both group and private night nature experiences.
There are 3 different Chocolate tours available in town which also offer chocolate sampling and a menu to order a delicious dessert or hot chocolate! Don't miss this while in Mindo. We enjoyed the tour from El Quetzal tour, but also like to go to Yumbos for their brownie and hot chocolate
Mindo has three butterfly houses, one is walkable from our hospedaje, Mindo Mariposario y Mariposario Nathaly, and the other is a 10 minute cab ride, Jardin de Mariposas which is worth the drive
If you like a little adventure, do not skip the zipline course. There are 10 ziplines and it takes a couple of hours to complete.
